Back to College

I'm not really sure why, but I'm very excited to go back to school and start learning again! This is very unusual for me; I usually DREAD going back after a long break. It could be my newfound love for my major (Criminal Justice), or maybe the fact that this will potentially be my last semester of undergrad (fingers crossed). Sooo, in honor of college starting back, I'm going to talk about some goals/tips I have for the upcoming semester.

1. Read the assigned texts before class.

I always admire the people who actually read the assigned chapters each week (mostly because I'm definitely supposed to do that also LOL). These people are typically the ones who participate in class discussions and seem to know everything that we are learning that day. Although I read before class on the rare occasion, this semester I feel that it would be beneficial to do this on a regular basis. Not only does it lead to more in-class involvement, but I'm sure it aids in your understanding and appreciation of the content being learned.

2. Have more productive mornings

Currently, I'm trying to perfect and maintain a good morning schedule. I'm horrible about getting up early and getting ish done. So, I've been doing some research on how to wake up more easily and how to increase productivity by doing work in the morning. Thus far, I've found several great tips and have been up at 7 for the past two days (this is wayyyy earlier than normal for me). Once I finish researching this I'll probably write an individual post about it, so look out for that ;))

3. Don't look like a total bum EVERY day

Idk if anyone else feels this way, but I am always more motivated and I feel better when I don't look like a piece of trash. Last semester I rolled out of bed every morning and went straight to class because I didn't care about getting ready enough to wake up early. Although I did well grade-wise, I felt like junk all day long. So, this semester I'm going to attempt to only bum it out at most two days a week.

4. Never get too relaxed

I'm using the experience I learned from the 2018 spring semester for this one. I was overly confident and thought my schedule was so easy that I didn't have to do anything. Boy was I wrong. I got way too relaxed when it came to doing school work and didn't end up meeting my grade goals at the end of the semester. It was a great learning experience and I definitely know to watch my back now hahaha.

5. Take a day off

On the contrary of #4, taking one day out of the week and doing absolutely no work is something I'm going to ~reluctantly~ do. Not only will this motivate me to get all of my work done earlier, but I'm doing it on Sundays so I can keep the #sabbathday holy. It's also just great to have a day off.

Lets hope I keep up with these goals/tips. If ya try them out and keep up with them you may notice a positive difference!

ps. It has been raining a ton this year, so I love these cute rain boots to walk to class in!

Thanks for reading!
