Whitening your Teeth at Home

Today there are soooo many teeth whitening systems to choose from. Its hard to come across a good one that isn't super expensive AND that works. Compared to other systems I have looked at, Smile Brilliant's is in the mid-range of pricing. If this is a doable price for you, Smile Brilliant sends you a detailed kit instructing you how the impressions are made and how to use their whitening system. I was seriously SO nervous to do the impressions because my experience getting them made at the orthodontist has scarred me for life hahahah. But, it was super easy to do, and they send you extra materials just in case you make a mistake.

After you make the impressions all you have to do is send them to the lab using the shipping materials Smile Brilliant provides. The system is very easy to use. All you do is put the whitening gel in the tray, set a timer and wait. If you have the sensitive system you clean the tray after whitening and repeat the process using the desensitizing gel. After your time is up, clan your tray and you are done. I always whitened at night so I would not need to eat or drink anything after whitening. While I wait for my timer to run up I literally clean my room, do homework, and go about my daily life which is super convenient!

My Experience

I have whitened my teeth before using homemade little mold from walmart ahahaha, so before I tried this system I had a little bit of whitening experience. I tend to whiten before big events (weddings, proms, photos...) or anytime before I wear red lipstick. I hate when I put on red lipstick and my teeth look yellow

As I said above, using the system is very easy so I definitely like that part. The first time I whitened I noticed that my gums were super uncomfortable during the whitening process. In order to prevent this I tried putting vaseline on my gums before whitening. While the pain did not completely go away, it did help substantially. Now that I'm used to this formerly unfamiliar feeling, I have no issue whitening without the vaseline. It honestly just takes time to get used to!

I will say that it does require some dedication to see results, so you need to be persistent in whitening. This is probably the hardest part for me because I have such a hectic and unpredictable schedule. I also had to be more conscientious of what I was drinking while whitening. When I had coffee I noticed that my teeth would stain easier. But, I started drinking iced coffee through a straw to combat this issue!

I have been using the whitening system on and off for several months and I can definitely see a difference in the whiteness of my teeth! I love the results and don't have to rely on a filter for my teeth to be white (which is gr8) lolol.
